City Government launches 2010 Kasalan sa Valentines Print

By Karen T. Acero

Since its inception in 2000, the KASALAN SA VALENTINES of the City Government spearheaded by City Mayor Pons Casurra has catered to a number of couples who wanted to get married but does not have the financial capacity to enter into the marriage ceremony.

This year, 212 couples who have been living together for about 5 years or so had been solemnized by Mayor Pons on February 14, Valentines Day at the City Gymnasium.

Aside from being free of charge, the mass wedding will provide incontestable marriage contract and proper registration of offsprings live birth certificates which will eventually be very crucial for future needs. It can be recalled that thousands of individuals, who happen to be children of unwedded couples, encountered problems about their Birth Certificates.

Mayor Pons wanted that registration of live births, preparation of marriage certificates be carefully handled by responsible employees and proper authorities to avoid such problems in the future.
