The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) in Silang, Cavite, announced Monday that it is accepting first-year cadets for the school year 2008-2009. In a letter to Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra, PNPA Director P/CSupt Danilo Q. Abarzosa said that a cadet admission test for the four-year Bachelor of Science in Pubilc Safety will need to be passed by prospective applicants in order to be admitted to a full scholarship cadetship in PNPA.

Applicants should be a natural born Filipino citizen; of good moral character; male or female with no obligation to support a child or children; 17 to 21 years old; height of at least 162.5cm for male and 157.50 for female; weight of not more than or less than five kilograms of the standard weight measurement corresponding to height, age and sex; at least a high-school graduate; physically and mentally fit; no criminal, administrative or civil case on file before any Prosecutor’s Office or any Court of Justice and other derogatory records; not a former cadet of PNPA or other service academies; and must be able to perform 10 pull-ups, 40 push-ups, 55 sit-ups, 17-second 100-meter dash and 4:30-minute 1000-meter dash for male and 40-second full arms hanging, 35 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, 20-second 100-meter dash and 5:30-minute 1000 meter dash for female.

In order for the applications to be processed, applicant needs to accomplish an application form together with a self-stamped envelope that should be mailed to: The Director, Philippine National Police Academy, Camp General MarianoN. Castañeda, Silang, Cavite 4129.

Deadline for submission of applications is on September 19, 2008, and the admission test will be held on October 19, 2008. For Caraga region, the PNPA exam will be in Butuan City. Notice of examination shall be sent through mail.
